SafeRide is the app that lets parents follow their child’s school bus during the journey and lets bus attendants run the trip, on iPhone and Android.
Start with your transport service
SafeRide accounts are created by your school transport service (your “operator”) — there is no public sign-up in the app. Your operator is also the one who sets up your child, chooses the route and bus, records attendance and records payments.
So for most questions your transport service is the fastest and often the only place that can help, because they hold the information:
- Adding, removing or changing a child’s details
- Changing a pickup or drop-off point, a route or a bus
- Correcting an attendance record
- Fees, invoices and recording a payment
Contact us below when the app itself is the problem, or when your operator cannot resolve it.

The same support number the app uses for its “Forgot password?” link. Best for account access problems.

Best for anything detailed, and for privacy requests such as a copy of your data or account deletion.
Send emailPlease never send us these. No one from SafeRide will ever ask you for them, and you should not put them in a WhatsApp message or an email:
- Your password, or a new password you want to use
- A one-time code (OTP) or PIN
- A full NIC number, or a photograph of an NIC
- Photographs of a child, or details such as a home address, beyond what is needed to identify the account
- Bank account, card or CVV details — SafeRide never takes payments, so we will never need them
To identify your account, your name and your child’s first name and bus or route are normally enough. If we need anything more, we will tell you exactly why.
What we can help with
| Topic | What to tell us |
|---|---|
| Account access Can’t sign in, forgotten password |
Message us on WhatsApp. In the app you can also tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen, which opens the same WhatsApp chat for you. Tell us your name and your child’s name or your bus — not your old or new password. |
| Guardian and child setup Wrong child, wrong bus, wrong stop |
Start with your transport service, as they enter and control this. If they have made the change and the app still shows the old details, tell us what it shows and what it should show. |
| Trip tracking The bus is not moving on the map |
The map only shows a bus while the attendant has a trip running; outside a trip there is nothing to track, which is normal. If a trip is running and the bus is still not moving, tell us the date, roughly the time, and the route or bus. |
| Attendance A boarding or drop-off is wrong or missing |
Attendance is recorded by the attendant on the bus, so your transport service can correct it. Contact us if the record is correct in their dashboard but wrong in your app. |
| Absences Marking a child as not travelling |
You can mark your child absent in the app for a single day or a date range. Tell us if an absence you saved is not showing. |
| Notifications Not receiving alerts |
First check that notifications are allowed for SafeRide in your phone’s settings. If they are allowed and alerts still do not arrive, tell us your phone model and roughly when you last expected one. |
| Payment records An invoice or receipt looks wrong |
SafeRide does not take payments. You pay your transport service directly, and they record it in the app. So a wrong amount or a missing payment has to be corrected by them. Contact us if their record is right but the app shows something different. |
| Attendants and drivers Starting a trip, marking children, location |
Tell us your bus and what the app did. If location sharing is the problem, check that SafeRide is allowed to use your location always, since the bus stops updating for parents otherwise. |
| Privacy and your data A copy of your data, or deletion |
Email us. See the Privacy Policy for what we hold and what you can ask for. |
Reporting a problem
It helps a great deal if you can tell us:
- Whether you are a parent/guardian or a bus attendant
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
- The date and roughly the time
- Your phone model, and whether it is an iPhone or an Android phone
- A screenshot, if it shows the problem — please cover anything you would rather not share
Privacy
What we collect and why, how long we keep it, and how to ask for a copy of your data or have it deleted, is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.
